Yes! Families can create their own accounts in Schoology. They can see exactly what students are working on, and they can also join groups or other courses that schools create to connect with families.

Do you have to use PowerSchool SIS to use Schoology?

No. Schoology features powerful integration functionality with PowerSchool SIS, but we also work with all other major SIS systems through OneRoster 1.2 integration capabilities.

What PowerSchool solutions does Schoology integrate with?

Schoology offers PowerSchool SIS, Performance Matters, Curriculum & Instruction, MyPowerHub, a multitiered system of supports (MTSS), Behavior, Naviance, Analytics & Insights, and Professional Learning. Connect with a PowerSchool expert to learn more about the details.

Does Schoology support standards-based grading workflows?

Yes! Schoology includes standard mastery gradebook functionality and a mastery tracking dashboard. Interoperability includes standards passback functionality to PowerSchool SIS, and standards passback functionality to PowerSchool Performance Matters.

Do we really need an LMS if we’re not doing remote learning?

Schoology is an incredibly valuable tool for in-person, hybrid, or remote learning. It offers time-saving workflows for teachers in a single hub for all academic work and edtech tools. It provides transparency for students, staff, and families and keeps students up to date when they’re absent.

How is AI integrated into Schoology?

PowerBuddy AI is integrated into Schoology for both teachers and students. It helps teachers come up with new ideas and create content that is grade-leveled, standards-aligned, and appropriate for K–12 education. PowerBuddy provides students with a conversational AI tutor tailored to their individual learning needs and grade level. Schoology also integrates with third-party AI tools to allow teachers to take advantage of whatever their school or district provides.

Can Schoology also be used for professional development?

Yes! Organizations can use Schoology Groups or full courses for PLCs. It also integrates with PowerSchool’s Professional Learning platform to include transcripts, tracking, and other advanced reporting.

How does Schoology support assessment?

Schoology provides robust assessment tools with tech-enhanced items. Performance Matters assessments can also be deployed from within Schoology, allowing for more sophisticated assessment strategies and advanced reporting. LTI integration also allows for connections with other edtech assessment platforms.

How do you integrate with software productivity suites (Microsoft or Google)?

Schoology includes powerful purpose-built integrations with both Microsoft and Google. Microsoft assignments or Google assignments can be used within Schoology, and Google Drive or Microsoft Office file systems are also supported.
